English I went over tone in “Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night” to create a procedure for determining tone in a piece of writing (in this case, a poem). We also used the poem “My Papa’s Waltz” and the incorrect interpretation we created yesterday to determine how this happened.

English 8 went over a slave narrative as an illustration of Nightjohn’s argument about the importance of slaves becoming literate. We examined the passage to see if his account corresponded with what we see in the novel.
