First and sixth periods finished up the persuasive essay unit by working on the “Works Cited” page that will be required for the final draft. Second and fourth periods looked at an informational text to compare Harper Lee’s portrayal of the southern gentlewoman with the reality of the 1930s south. Seventh period began a unit on poetry. We practiced looking carefully at how words are used in a day of vocabulary preparation.

  • First and sixth periods: complete final “Works Cited” bibliographic entry according to the pattern used in class.
  • Second and fourth periods: read chapters 16-18 in To Kill a Mockingbird.
  • Seventh period: complete reading practice classwork.
