Michaela DePrince

English 8 students worked on determining the main idea (or central idea) of a nonfiction text today. We began by looking at a text about Michaela DePrince, the orphan from Sierra Leone who was adopted by an American family and is now a world-class ballerina. We went through the text yesterday and worked today on determining its main idea.

English I students worked on the Odyssey, analyzing as groups whether or not we’re seeing behaviors consistent with Odysseus’s status as a vaunted hero. We will continue such analysis as we work through the rest of the Odyssey.

Homework
