English I Honors students worked on the friar’s famous soliloquy, which has all the elements of a perfect soliloquy:

  • Displays attributes of the character
  • Foreshadows the play
  • Involves philosophical ruminations
  • Displays heavy poetic embellishment

We worked through most of it but there lingers some confusion about the details but we’ll clear all that up tomorrow.

English 8 students looked at some in-depth discussion questions about the second part of the Frederick Douglass text.

Homework

  • English 8: work on IXL as needed.
  • English I Honors:
    • begin reviewing the hard song list and the easy song list for the Romeo and Juliet project (check back often as I am still adding songs on a semi-regular basis);
    • work on IXL as needed;
    • reread 2.3 and work on the 2.3 comprehension questions for Romeo and Juliet.
