• voice/diction, and
• participles.

English I Honors students learned what the mysterious line is that we’ve been drawing in some poems: the tonal shift, which accompanies the lyric moment.

• English I Honors: 
  • study for the vocabulary test Tuesday;
  • work on IXL as necessary;
  • choose one point we’ve read in the past (other than “My Papa’s Waltz”) and identify the location of the tonal shift as well as the tone before and after the shift.
