English I Honors students continued working on the short story/analysis unit, moving on to the second group of stories for our next paragraph, which will have to do with point of view.

We worked on the idea that what one sees depends on where one stands. We got a bunch of descriptions of the classroom, but because everyone had a different point of view, everyone had a different description.

English 8 students finished up chapter one from Nightjohn, working on effective readers’ skills. We also had our first choice-reading session, starting with a mere five minutes.

Homework

  • English 8:
    • complete the chapter one work as necessary (on Google Classroom);
    • continue the article of the week as necessary.
  • English I Honors:
    • continue assessing the first analytic Schaffer paragraph;
    •  re-read “In the Family” (at Moodle) and find two pieces of evidence that indicate where the narrator stands, figuratively speaking.
