First and fourth periods continued to analyze chapter 24 by looking at irony, names, and why the author include the chapter in the story. Due to a miscalculation in planning on my part (it had slipped my mind that Thursday and Friday of next week are professional development days), I re-calibrated lesson plans, which meant we’ll need to finish up faster than originally planned. To that end, I gave students the last twenty minutes of class to read.

Second and seventh periods reviewed the participle homework and then completed Nightjohn, using the “It Says/I Say” engagement.
