First and sixth periods worked on The Diary of Anne Frank. Second and fourth periods dealt with the issue of setting in Lord of the Flies. Seventh period had an extemporaneous outdoor writing exercise due to the computer system being temporarily down.

• First and sixth periods:
• complete the PASS practice essay from last Friday on the following prompt:
• Your principal is applying for a grant to place more computers in your school.  Write an essay for the grant committee that explains how computers affect your learning in school.  Be sure to give examples of the many ways you and your teachers use computers in the classroom.
• read Diary of Anne Frank act 2 scene 3 and write two reader’s journal entries (due Monday).
• Second and fourth periods:
• finish chapters two and three of Lord of the Flies;
• work on Lord of the Flies vocabulary;
• complete the “Allegory of the Cave” short answer assignment;
• begin working on Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” lesson;
• continue working on Romeo and Juliet soundtrack project.
