First and sixth periods went over PASS practice: the PASS extended writing test is bearing down on us, and we’re trying to get a few of our last ducks in rows.
Second and fourth periods looked at initial symbols within Lord of the Flies. Among the symbols we explored were:
- the conch
- the signal fire
- the huts
- Simon’s hiding place
- Simon
Seventh period had the final day of preparation for Monday’s presentations.
Homework
- First and sixth periods:
- complete act two scene three of Diary of Anne Frank;
- complete two reader’s journal entries.
- Second and fourth periods:
- work on Lord of the Flies vocabulary (quiz on chapters 1-3 Tuesday);
- complete the Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” lesson;
- complete the Maslow’s “Hierarchy of Needs” writing assignment (be sure to review the rubric beforehand);
- continue working on Romeo and Juliet soundtrack project.
