English I students went over linking verbs and phrasal verbs before working on the paragraph for their model selection for our last short story analytic writing assignment. (Complete notes below.)

English 8 students began their new unit on the novel Nightjohn. We’ll be using two-sided, It-Says/I-Say journals for this, and today I modeled it a little for students before gradually releasing it to the kids to do one on their own.

After a bit of work in each class, we headed to the fall bookfair in the library.

Homework

  • English 8 Studies: none.
  • English I Honors:
    • complete preposition work on No Red Ink (as needed);
    • complete pronoun work on Moodle (as needed);
    • complete pronoun work on No Red Ink;
    • read “The Necklace.”
Class Notes

Notes for the day's classes are available here.

Please note that this is a composite file including notes from all classes, though occasionally it might only be one or two classes. I don't differentiate in the file; that is up to you to do.
