English I students continued their parts of speech overview, looking today at indefinite and demonstrative pronouns and how they can sometimes be adjectives. Common indefinite pronouns include: all, any, anyone, anything, each, everybody, everyone, everything, few, many, nobody, none, one, several, some, somebody, and someone. Demonstrative pronouns consist of the following: this, that, these, and those. All of these can be adjectives in some situations. We did a little practice identifying them.
Afterward, students began their final writing assignment of the first unit. We’ll be focusing on symbolism and irony.
English 8 students began a new unit. We’ll be reading Nightjohn, and we began the unit thinking about literacy and how important it is to be able to read.
