English I (Fourth and Fifth Periods)

English I students worked on completing their first analytic Schaffer paragraphs. Most students are working on paragraphs that deal with one of three possible topic sentences, two dealing with changing the time element of the setting and one dealing with changing the place element of the setting.

English 8 (Sixth and Seventh Periods)

Sixth-period students not only worked on their first full Schaffer paragraph but also completed their first paragraph — in about fifteen minutes!

Anyone who did not complete this in class needs to complete it at home and turn it in. (It’s on Google Classroom.)

Seventh-period students had a bit of additional practice identifying elements of a Schaffer paragraph. This is the work that sixth period completed yesterday.

Homework

• English 8: 
  • work on the AOW as necessary;
  • complete and turn in the initial Schaffer paragraph as necessary (sixth-period students only).
• English I Honors: 
  • complete the Schaffer paragraph on plot and setting in “The Most Dangerous Game” by tomorrow. (We will be turning it in tomorrow at the beginning of class.)
  • work on the AOW as necessary.
