English I students began the Romeo and Juliet project in earnest, looking at how the song “Decoration Day” has similarities to the action of 3.1 in the play. The link for the English I class recording (periods 3 and 4) is here. The notes are here. The lyrics and the song itself are Classroom.

Students who were not in class today should follow along with the class before looking at the notes download above. And it’s critical that students who were not in class today do this work. (I don’t know why the 3 or 4 of you who emailed me about streaming were unable to access it in real-time. Apologies — some glitch somewhere.)

English 8 students went over their AOW a bit and worked on No Red Ink. The link for the English 8 class recording (periods 5 and 6) is here.

Homework

  • English 8: work on No Red Ink (comma work).
  • English I Honors:
    • decide which 2 of the 4 connections you’re going to write about for “Decoration Day;”
    • determine which quotes you’re going to use for those connections.
Class Notes

Notes for the day's classes are available here.

Please note that this is a composite file including notes from all classes, though occasionally it might only be one or two classes. I don't differentiate in the file; that is up to you to do.
