Today we began making the transition from having six rather disjointed paragraphs that have no connection to one another to having one coherent paper. In other words, we worked on transition paragraphs.

It’s a bit of a tricky process at first, but today we made good progress toward unlocking the mysteries of it all. As per usual, there is a recording of the class on Google Classroom. (It’s not available here for hopefully obvious reasons.)

Remember: tomorrow is the test.

Homework

  • English I Honors: 
    • prepare for the act 4/5 test;
    • work on discovering connections between your paragraphs;
    • complete your phrase work, which should include the following:
      • prepositional phrase practice
      • participial phrase practice 1
      • participial phrase practice 2
      • gerund phrase practice 1
      • gerund phrase practice 2
      • infinitive phrase practice 1
      • infinitive phrase practice 2
