English 8 students finished up working on the third part of the very challenging Frederick Douglass text. As students worked, I conferenced with pairs looking at two sentences in particular:
- With their kindly aid, obtained at different times and in different places, I finally succeeded in learning to read.
- I used also to carry bread with me, enough of which was always in the house, and to which I was always welcome;
English I Honors conducted their Socratic Seminar discussing the question, “Who is ultimately responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet?” We’ll be finishing this up tomorrow.
Homework
- English 8 Studies: none.
- English I Honors:
- work on AOW Q3 vocab on Quizlet;
- complete initial planning for the Romeo and Juliet project.
