English 8 students worked on a brief overview of figurative language, reviewing:
- metaphor,
- simile,
- personification, and
- hyperbole.
They’ll be using it in class tomorrow for some identification practice.
English I Honors students had a guest speaker, Mr. Jim Bannister, a trial lawyer who leads students to see a great deal of new evidence in the trial of Tom Robinson in To Kill a Mockingbird. Students will be applying the new insights in analyzing the case anew tomorrow.
Homework
- English 8 Studies: none.
- English I Honors: as mentioned in class last week, students need to be done with the novel by Wednesday. This should only be a reminder for students, not a new assignment.
