English Studies began working on chapter four of Nightjohn, using effective readers’ skills to interact with the text. We’ll finish up tomorrow and write our latest journal entry.

English Strategies worked on using context clues to determine the meaning of a word. We worked in small groups to determine the relationships between words in the sentences to help us figure out what a given word might mean.

English I Honors, able now to manage the Schaffer model with a fair amount ease, put on a few more pounds on the intellectual barbells started planning our latest writing assignment on “The Cask of Amontillado.”

Homework

  • English 8: finish the context clues work (Google Classroom) as necessary.
  • English I Honors:
    • evaluate the second writing assignment on “Thank You, M’am” by tomorrow at midnight;
    • begin working on the paragraph analysis of “The Cask of Amontillado.”
