Notes from first and fourth period’s text marking

First and fourth periods began studying allegories today, as part of our study on Lord of the Flies. We first learned what an allegory is, and then looked at an allegory, “The Allegory of the Cave.”

Second and seventh periods continued their PASS preparation work, focusing today on the third step, which involves checking grammar, spelling, and length. (The actual area provided for students to write their final draft is incredibly small, and we’re working to make sure students can get a final draft that’s Goldilocks: not too long nor too short, but just right.)

We also went over the rubric for the PASS practice project that students are working on: I’m assessing their work on an on-going basis, but I’ll be counting it all (all four practice tests) as one, major grade.
