First and fourth periods worked on standard W.9-10.1d: “Establish and maintain a formal style and objective tone while attending to the norms and conventions of the discipline in which they are writing.” After going over the basics of formal voice, we did a little practice of converting informal writing into formal writing.

Second and seventh periods had a transitional day: those who needed to do more research completed research while those who’d already completed their research began their first draft.

Homework

  • English I Honors: 
    • read act five of Romeo and Juliet;
    • work on midterm exam extra credit opportunity (as necessary);
    • complete the “Decoration Day” workshop at moodle.ourenglishclass.net (due tonight at midnight).
