First period reached the climax of Nightjohn. We’ll be finishing up shortly, then starting on our literacy memoir.
Second and sixth periods examined the effect point of view can have on a story, answering the EQ, “How does the point of view affect a story?” We read The True Story of the Three Little Pigs as an example of how a change in perspective affects a change in narrative before looking at Nightjohn and the author’s use of perspective and point of view in that book.
Fourth period continued with their mythology in contemporary culture presentations. We’ll finish up tomorrow and begin the Odyssey by the end of the week.
Homework
- First period: begin planning literacy memoir.
- Fourth period: A second effort: use the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL) guide for documenting electronic sources to create citations for the resources you used in creating the mythology presentation. Print it out when you’re done (or simply write it by hand) and bring it to class Friday.
