school days left
Today students had a chance to re-read the letters of introduction they wrote at the beginning of the school year. Most students couldn’t help but giggle at some of the things they thought were so important that they needed to share them with me first thing. And they giggled at how “badly” they wrote.
“My hope,” I explained, “is that you’ll have this reaction every year to what you wrote at the beginning of the year. That’s one clear sign of growth — seeing our own mistakes clearly.”
