All classes had a last-minute strategy session for tomorrow’s TDA SC-Ready test. A few pointers:

• Everyone’s goal is a minimum of 1 Schaffer body paragraph. Two body paragraphs would be better, and three would be best.
• Students must read the prompt carefully: many prompts ask students to analyze something the author does, so if the response doesn’t refer to the author doing x or y, it’s technically not in accordance with the prompt.
• Students should read their final draft twice: once from start to finish to check that everything makes sense and a second time in reverse to check for misspelled words.

After going over the last practice TDA, students got in their self-selected literature groups. English 8 is working on the second act of The Diary of Anne Frank while English I students are working on To Kill a Mockingbird.
