English 8 is close to finishing up a unit on Harriet Tubman and the underground railroad. We’ve been reading informational texts about the Underground Railroad and the idea that slaves and abolitionists communicated to each other via hidden codes embedded in quilts. We’ve examined four articles about it, evaluating the authority of each source so that we can draw some conclusions about the source and, by proxy, the claims on Monday.

We’ll be having a test on everything we’ve been learning in this unit next week, most likely Wednesday.

English I students finished reading Romeo and Juliet. We’ll be examining a few passages a little more closely over the next few days, and we’ll be working on the project concurrently with the new unit. Some time next week we’ll have the act 4/5 test.

As with yesterday, we also had a little practice with active/passive on Kahoot!
