English I students worked on 5.1, which is the famous party scene in which Romeo finally meets Juliet.
Our focus for the day was on the hidden stage instructions that guide actors and directors in their creative decisions regarding the play’s staging.
We looked specifically at how key words can show us when the character has changed whom he/she is addressing.
Being able to do this will be key later in the play
English 8 students began working on their final reading assignment in their immigration unit before we turn our attention to a major project. Our final selection is about Michaela DePrince, a world-renowned ballerina who was born into poverty in Sierra Leone before tragedy made her an orphan.
We read a selection about her after watching a video of her dancing, then we watched a short interview with her.
