English I students worked on one of the most famous passages of Romeo and Juliet: Mercutio’s Queen Mab monologue.

In going over this famous passage, we covered two new topics:

• parallel construction / parallelism
• elliptical constructions

These two grammatical/rhetorical techniques are in the Mab passage in spades, as are inversions.

English 8 students are almost done with the research element of their research project. They’ll be writing up the results beginning Friday.
