Since we have created quite a few Dickens fans in the classes that have been reading Great Expectations, I had a little idea to change up the lesson plans for the week and write some fan fiction since not everyone was pleased with the way the novel ended so ambiguously.

Students worked today to create their own endings, within a Dickensian framework. We’ll be finishing them up tomorrow and sharing them aloud Thursday.

  • study for the AOW vocab quiz (27 May);
  • begin preparing for the “Letter to Next Year’s Students” assignment (28 May) by
    • looking at previous students’ letters again;
    • reviewing the rubric for the assignment.
