Students today looked at the testimony presented in the novel, with each group/pod taking a specific character’s testimony and sketching it out step-by-step. We will be using this on the Tuesday after return in order to discuss the case with a local criminal defense attorney who will be visiting the class through Google Meet.
We began today with a short but close look Heck Tate’s testimony about Mayella Ewell’s wounds after the alleged crime:

- complete both clause practices (these are now late; if you complete them now, they are reduced credit):
- work on Mockingbird discussion forums; (attempts simply to manipulate the word count by submitting multiple comments like “Wow! This is great! I agree,” should they appear, will be deleted);
- read through chapter 20 by Monday (and chapter 23 by Wednesday) of Mockingbird.
