First period went over some prewriting skills. We did a short timed free-writing session: four minutes of non-stop writing. “Do you hands and arms hurt?” I asked as the bell rang. Most everyone nodded in the affirmative.
Second and sixth periods worked on Nightjohn. We read the disturbing section covering Alice’s whipping and attempted escape. Some students were quite moved by the power of the situation and the writing.
Fourth period went over paraphrasing in conjunction with the Circe section we read for homework.
Tiring day.
