First and seventh periods had quizzes on the spring break reading (through page 137). The results were not spectacular. We spent the day reading. We’ll have another quiz tomorrow.
Second period looked at one of the major motifs in The Giver: conformity versus diversity.
Fourth period began looking at characterization and how Dickens creates his characters.
Homework
- First and seventh:
- finish reading through page 137;
- prepare for quiz on reading.
- Second period: read chapter 12.
- Fourth period: begin reading further (you’ll need to have through chapter 38 by Monday).
