English 8 students had some time today to catch up. We didn’t finish our discussion prep on Thursday, so we finished that up, and we had a chance to make up some other missing work and prepare for tomorrow’s vocabulary quiz.

English I Honors began preparing for a guest speaker who will be visiting in a couple of weeks. We diagrammed Heck Tate’s testimony in great detail, making sure we could distinguish between

1. What the prosecution shows,
2. What the defense shows,
3. What we’ve inferred,
4. What we’ve learned from other parts of the book.

We worked as a class today; we’ll break into smaller groups to continue tomorrow.

• English 8: work on the Quizlet vocabulary to prepare for tomorrow’s quiz.
• English I Honors: re-read the second half of chapter 17 and all of chapter 18 for tomorrow.
