First and sixth periods finished the abridged viewing of The Diary of Anne Frank. We completed and turned in the viewing guide.

Second and fourth periods continued with The Lord of the Flies, looking today at the various types of conflict in the novel and examining how these various types of conflict contribute to the boys’ fear of the beast. We postponed the chapters 4-6 vocab quiz until tomorrow.

Seventh period finished the overview of the elements of drama and began a bit of vocabulary work for this new drama unit.

Homework

• First and sixth periods: study for test tomorrow on The Diary of Anne Frank.
• Second and fourth periods:
• complete chapter eight (by Friday), reading it twice‘
• work on Lord of the Flies vocabulary (quiz on chapters 4-6 was postponed until tomorrow);
• complete the written response for chapter four in Lord of the Flies (due by midnight).
• Seventh period: none.
