English I students continued their parts of speech review, going over pronouns today and learning about things like antecedents and relative pronouns. Afterward, we worked on our “Magi”/”Necklace” paragraphs, making sure we have strong topic sentences and moving on to the evidence portion of the writing process.

English 8 students took our reading notes and with some analysis realized we also have a typical Schaffer paragraph planning chart. We’re trying to get to where the connection between reading and writing narrows, so that students can see the organization behind the finished product of someone else’s argumentative paragraph.

Homework

  • English 8: complete the vocab chart (that we began in class) for the word “robust” (the second word.
  • English I Honors:
    • complete the work on No Red Ink (due Friday at the latest);
    • make any revisions you need to on your TS.
Class Notes

Notes for the day's classes are available here.

Please note that this is a composite file including notes from all classes, though occasionally it might only be one or two classes. I don't differentiate in the file; that is up to you to do.
