English 8 students worked on their second of three days of research for their argumentative writing project. When we come back Tuesday, we’ll have one final day of reading/research.

English I Honors students began the final day of evaluation and close reading of Romeo and Juliet. We looked at Romeo’s long final speech and all the fascinating tricks Shakespeare packs into Romeo’s final soliloquy (well, I guess technically not a soliloquy since Juliet is still technically alive.

We began with the last two lines of the soliloquy (above), which contain a surprising amount of echoing and understatement for the rest of the play.

Homework

  • English 8 Studies: none.
  • English I Honors: work on Romeo and Juliet project as needed.
