English 8 students began a reading/annotation assignment that will allow me to gauge their abilities and skills in order to determine which skills we need to focus on this year.
English I Honors students began working on the famous Schaffer model — famous among my former students, that is. Students did group work to deduce what the elements of a Schaffer paragraph are, and we checked everyone’s understanding at the end of class.
Journalism students got their first crack at the writing system we use — a series of Google Docs and Sheets that track progress, organize writing, and generally guide everything we do.
