First and fourth periods today learned about sociology, and how it works in everyday life. We discussed how society influences how we relate with one another, as well as how it controls how we behave as individuals, or in different groups of people. This is part of the multidisciplinary unit on Lord of the Flies: we will be applying our budding sociological understanding to the book in an extended response, which we will continue working on tomorrow in class.

Second and fourth periods began the mini-research unit on justice. We’ll be looking at the commitment of Mary Todd Lincoln. Today we merely had an overview of the case.
