English I students finished up their work on the poem “My Papa’s Waltz,” determining that we have to be somewhat careful about reading too much into something based on connotation alone without taking into consideration the original context of the piece’s authorship. In other words, we saw a real-life example of how connotation can change with time. We also finished our parts of speech review.
English 8 students worked on their argument pieces, completing first drafts in time for a Monday turn in.
