Students today continued working on characterization in Great Expectations. We’re examining eight characters:

• Mrs. Joe
• Estella
• Mrs. Havisham
• Uncle Pumblechook
• Jaggers
• Herbert Pocket

We’ve been looking at how what type of individuals they are as a precursor to examining how Dickens creates such characters.

Homework

• English I Honors: 
  • complete comprehension questions for chapters 21-30;
  • prepare for the test on clauses and active/passive voice;
  • study for the AOW vocab quiz (27 May);
  • begin preparing for the “Letter to Next Year’s Students” assignment (28 May) by
    • looking at previous students’ letters again;
    • reviewing the rubric for the assignment.
