Today marked the end of the final full week of school. Next week opens with Memorial Day, and while we should probably all be pausing at some point to think about those who died in the service of our country, it has for decades now marked the official start of summer and means barbecues and swimming excursions. The week after that is only three days long, with the final day — Eighth Grade Day — being a half day.
English 8 students began their final facet of their final project: presenting their passages from The Diary of Anne Frank. One group brought a cake as one of their props, so we had to make sure that group went. They did an excellent job, and everyone enjoyed eating the prop afterward.
English I Honors students had a final day of writing, this time for the question of how Golding presents Simon as a Christ-figure in Lord of the Flies.
