We had the science SC-PASS test today. We were on a three-hour delay schedule, so all the classes afterward were only half an hour. Still, we did the best we could with the time we had.

English I students worked on their third and final writing assignment for Lord of the Flies. We decided to cancel the final AOW, though I was surprised at how accepting they were of the suggestion. I was expecting tears, disappointment, begging — “Please, don’t do it Mr. Scott! Don’t take that final article of the week away from us!” Surprisingly, though, they clapped.

English 8 students continued preparing for their Diary of Anne Frank projects. We’ll have dress rehearsals tomorrow and actual performances next week.

• English 8: complete any Anne Frank comprehension questions you’ve yet to finish.
• English I Honors: 
  • complete assessments of taboo writing by midnight;
  • complete and turn in third/final Lord of the Flies writing assignment by midnight Friday/Saturday;
  • complete the assessments of the third/final Lord of the Flies writing assignment by 10:25 AM Tuesday;
  • finish reading Lord of the Flies by Tuesday.
