English I Honors students began an extensive unit on Romeo and Juliet. We began by reviewing the basics of an argument and looking at a New York Times article about the impact Shakespeare has had and why we still read him today.
English 8 Strategies students began the new writing focus (informational/expository writing) by looking at three ways to organize a cause-effect essay and then looking at a specific piece of student writing to determine which method it used.
Creative writing students flipped things a bit to focus on the Hughes web site: we’ll begin the poetry unit tomorrow instead of today.
