First and fourth periods looked at how authority works in society, and then looked at an example, Milgram’s Experiment. Milgram’s experiment was designed to show how far people will follow the will of authority before their conscience will make them rebel. Tomorrow, students will participate in a Socratic seminar about how authority is formed and works in the Lord of the Flies.

Second and seventh period students continued with the mini-research project, looking at two of three main articles and marking the text for evidence of Mary Todd Lincoln’s sanity and evidence to the contrary.
