Second and seventh periods began formal work on this quarter’s main writing standard: the argument. Unbeknownst to them, they’ve been doing argumentative writing the whole quarter under a different name (i.e., the Schaffer model), but we’re broadening things by including counterclaims and rebuttals.

Second period went over it in a somewhat dull way. I didn’t really thing things through, but I had a brainstorm later in the lesson

Seventh period, though, used a Prezi I made during the planning period. I just wasn’t happy with how things went second period — a bit stale — and decided to jazz things up a bit.

First and fourth periods read “The Tell Tale Heart” and started planning our final projects.

Homework

  • English I Honors: 
    • Finish and turn in the paragraph on”The Necklace” or “The Gift of the Magi” (due at 11:59 pm).
    • Start the final project on “The Tell Tale Heart” (due next Monday).
