English 8 students worked on the final day of their group reading work, tackling Frederick Douglass’s linguistically tricky explanation of the effect slavery had on his owner’s wife as well as on him.

English I Honors worked on the balcony scene for one more day. We analyzed it for

  • elliptical constructions,
  • inversions, and
  • metaphorical language.

Homework

  • English 8: work on IXL as needed.
  • English I Honors:
    • begin reviewing theย hard song listย and theย easy song listย for theย Romeo and Julietย project (check back often as I am still adding songs on a semi-regular basis);
    • work on IXL as needed;
    • work on the 2.2 comprehension questions forย Romeo and Juliet.
