literature circle

All classes worked on lit circles today. English I students continued with the Mockingbird circles. We’ll be moving on to the next section of readings shortly, but we’ll be taking them one chapter at a time as we’ve reached the trial scene — the most critical scene in the book.

English 8 students worked on their first lit circles, with a class-wide practice/modeling session for the text we’ll be working on.

Homework
  • English 8 Studies: work on article of the week as necessary.

English I Honors students continued with To Kill a Mockingbird, finishing a first reading of yesterday’s opening passage from the novel and completing an overview of the first bit of unit-based work.

English 8 students (both sections) continued with their lit circles for The Glory Field.

Everyone went to the book fair.

Class Notes

Notes for the day's classes are available here.

Please note that this is a composite file including notes from all classes, though occasionally it might only be one or two classes. I don't differentiate in the file; that is up to you to do.

English I Honors had time to complete a final check of their work for the Romeo and Juliet project before turning it in.

English 8 Studies had their final day of literature circles for the first part of The Glory Field.

English 8 Strategies had a practice test before the review test we’ll be having Monday.

And Operation Get Smart ended the day with us.
