Syllabus
One caveat: I reserve the right to make minor changes to the syllabus during the year as needed.
In eighth-grade English, students focus on a large number of topics. There is a research element that includes everything from defining a topic for research to properly documenting sources of information. Grammar includes such odd beasts as gerunds and participles. Vocabulary development shifts from memorizing stems to using them to help aid in reading comprehension.
