Entering the Classroom Late

Most people are late at least once in their lives. To minimize the impact of a late arrival, we use the following procedure:

  1. Knock.
  2. Come in quietly.
  3. Sign the tardy log; give Mr. Scott your pass (if applicable).
  4. Resist the impulse to greet friends.
  5. Take out your materials
  6. Take a moment to figure out what the class is doing by looking at the EQ and observing others.
  7. If you can’t figure it out, see if you can get Mr. Scott’s attention.
  8. If all else fails, quietly ask a student.
