First period had their first presentation today. Students in the “audience” listened for words, watched for actions, and inferred emotions all relating to Mrs. Van Daan to outline her personality.

Second and sixth periods looked at informational texts and their characteristics as we read a little history of Hanukkah for tomorrow’s presentation of act one, scene five.

Fourth period looked at the question of responsibility in Romeo and Juliet. We’ll be finishing up the play this week, with the culminating activity (activities?) next week. This means the soundtrack project’s due date is nearing.

Homework
  • First period:
    • reread the scene presented today;
    • add three entries to your double-sided journal using three separate reading skills.
  • Second and sixth periods: watch for elements of informational texts in homework for other classes; be prepared to share tomorrow.
  • Fourth period: finish reading Romeo and Juliet (!!!).
