Fourth period English I Honors continued with yesterday’s controversial subject by reading an edited argument about the use of the pejorative term for African Americans in contemporary society. Students began tracing the strands of the author’s argument in individual groups. Tomorrow we’ll be working to pull everything together.

Sixth period English I Honors began the second discipline with which they will be examining Lord of the Flies, which is sociology. We’ll be using the basic concepts of sociology to look at how things on the island might begin changing.

English 8 Strategies students had fishbowl sessions in which they brainstormed about topics for their on-going persuasive writing projects.

    • begin assessing the first Lord of the Flies paragraph;

  • all students: complete and turn in the rough draft of all three songs for the soundtrack project by Tuesday
